Muskrat

Other than photos of my children playing soccer or doing karate, this would be one of my first (digital) wildlife photos taken way back in 2009. This image was taken with a Canon Rebel XTI and the 300mm kit lens while I was laying in the snow and slush not too far away from the creature. I was so happy, at the time, with this image of a Muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus),  a medium-sized semiaquatic rodent. Just the fact that I was able to approach it and get the shot made me a very happy person. Looking back at it now I see that that is not the “perfect” shot. It could have been sharper. The focus could have been better. All things we learn as we grow into the hobby or profession.
